Step-by-step cardboard lobster costume
Step 1
Get together everything you need.
Step 2
Using scissors, cut a scallop shape into the bottom of each strip of cardboard.
Step 3
Layer the scalloped strips on top of each other, and stick together using glue. Paint on a shell pattern using red or orange paint (or coral, if you’re feeling fancy).
Once it’s dry, bend your mega-scallop in a circle to fit around your little lobster. Tape together.
Step 4
Cut straps out of cardboard to go over your little lobster’s shoulders. Attach them to your mega-scallop.
Step 5
Now for the lobster head! You’ll need your small cardboard box, and a cardboard sheet cut into a semi-oval shape. Cut a face-shaped hole into both pieces of cardboard, and stick them together.
Step 6
Using your leftover cardboard, make antenna and stick them on. Decorate with paint.
Step 7
Cut pincers out of cardboard, paint them, and attach to them to your little one’s wrists using cardboard straps.
Step 8
Totally clawsome! Your starring shellfish is ready to wow the world.
Did you know?
Baby lobsters are called crickets. *Sigh* As if life isn’t confusing enough. Why couldn’t they choose lobsterkins or loblets?
Scientists reckon lobsters can keep growing forever and ever and ever. Just how big they can get, we still don’t know.
Lobsters taste with their legs and chew with their stomachs.
