A DIY cardboard crown to wear to the procession.
At Christmastime in Spanish communities around the world, the Three Wise Men bring gifts for children on 6 January, known as Three Kings’ Day – or Dia De Los Reyes. The day before, people parade through towns and cities in big colourful processions, representing the journey made by travelers to Bethlehem after the birth of baby Jesus.
If you’re going to a Three Kings’ Day Eve procession, why not jazz up your woolly hat with your own sparkly crown? A crown fit for the Three Wise Men themselves! (And even if you don’t go to a procession, you can wear it round the house to do your royal duties.) Ready Your Majesty?

You will need:
A printer
A4 thin cardboard (white or yellow)
Scissors
Tape
Gluestick / PVA glue
Felt tip pens
Glitter
Step-by-step cardboard crown
Step 1
First, print your crown template on some card. While the printer’s busy printing, gather together everything you need.
Step 2
Get your felt tip pens and decorate your crown. Make it extremely royal by adding lots of juicy diamonds and rubies and emeralds.
Step 3
Following the dotty lines, carefully cut out the three bits of your crown. (Get a grown-up to help you with scissors.) Then get some tape and stick the rectangles to each side of the crown.
Step 4
Dab on some glue, then sprinkle on glitter to make your crown sparkle. If you want your crown to look shiny all over, brush a layer of PVA glue over the whole thing and leave it to dry.
Step 5
Ask someone to help you put your crown on, then join the two bands together with tape to fit your head. Finally, practise your royal walk. Now you’re ready to celebrate the Day of Holy Kings in style!
