Yo ho ho! Here’s a fun and easy activity to do with children that will keep their precious loot (favourite stuff) safe. Gather your little pirates and dust off your best sea shanty. It’s time to bury treasure.

Empty jars
Strong glue
Inconspicuous objects
Treasure! (favourite things)

How to bury treasure like a pirate

Step 1

Rescue some jars from the briny deep of the rubbish bin.

Step 2

Pick some inconspicuous objects to stand guard over your treasure. (How about this innocent-looking rock?)

Step 3

Use a strong glue to stick your ‘decoys’ to the lids. Keep small fingers away to avoid mishaps.

Tell your little pirate to get their most precious treasure. (You might want to hide your car keys.)

Time to fill those jars. Treats you want to keep to yourself. Secret plans to keep away from prying eyes.

Pop those lids on. Harr, harr, now you’ve got some Treasure Jarrrs.

Time to bury that treasure in the garden (a planter is also good.)
