A one-of-a-kind costume for your little lobster

Who wants to dress up as a princess or a superhero, when you can be… A LOBSTER! Follow these simple steps to make an outfit that’s truly out-of-this-ocean. Perfect for playtime, school dress-up days, birthday parties, lobster conventions and under-the-sea tea parties

You will need:

1 large cardboard sheet
3 smaller cardboard strips
1 small cardboard box
Scissors
Double-sided tape
Paint for decorating

Step-by-step cardboard lobster costume

Get together everything you need.

Step 2

Using scissors, cut a scallop shape into the bottom of each strip of cardboard.

Step 3

Layer the scalloped strips on top of each other, and stick together using glue. Paint on a shell pattern using red or orange paint (or coral, if you’re feeling fancy).
Once it’s dry, bend your mega-scallop in a circle to fit around your little lobster. Tape together.

Cut straps out of cardboard to go over your little lobster’s shoulders. Attach them to your mega-scallop.

Now for the lobster head! You’ll need your small cardboard box, and a cardboard sheet cut into a semi-oval shape. Cut a face-shaped hole into both pieces of cardboard, and stick them together.

Using your leftover cardboard, make antenna and stick them on. Decorate with paint.

Cut pincers out of cardboard, paint them, and attach to them to your little one’s wrists using cardboard straps.
