Here\u2019s a craft for kids that\u2019ll make Daddy feel extra special this Father\u2019s Day. It\u2019s super easy to make, and guaranteed to put a twinkle (cough) in Daddy\u2019s eye. (You don\u2019t actually have to do this, just make sure you have everything ready).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col col--xs-12 col--sm-6 col--md-6 col--lg-6\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"tutorial__image\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.wonderbly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Step-1-700x500.jpg\" alt=\"Step 1\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Step 1<\/h2>\n<p>Use your craft knife to cut the bottom out of a paper cup. Moms: watch out for little fingers. This bit\u2019s for you! (Warning: the cup won\u2019t be quite so beverage-ready afterwards.)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col col--xs-12 col--sm-6 col--md-6 col--lg-6\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"tutorial__image\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.wonderbly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Step-2-700x500.jpg\" alt=\"Step 2\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Step 2<\/h2>\n<p>Stick the cup to the kitchen roll with a smidge of masking tape on the inside. Ta-da! You\u2019ve got the structure of your telescope.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col col--xs-12 col--sm-12 col--md-12 col--lg-12\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"tutorial__image\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.wonderbly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Step-3-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Step 3\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Step 3<\/h2>\n<p>Paint the telescope a base color, inside and out. We went for a color that epitomises love, \u2018galactic black\u2019. But feel free to experiment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col col--xs-12 col--sm-6 col--md-6 col--lg-6\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"tutorial__image\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.wonderbly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Step-4--700x500.jpg\" alt=\"Step 4\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Step 4<\/h2>\n<p>Time to prepare the lens. Using the end of your telescope as a guide, cut a circle out of acetate. Trim a tiny bit off the edge of the circle so it\u2019s slightly smaller than the end of the telescope. (It needs to fit snugly inside \u2013 think of the telescope as the big spoon and the acetate as the little spoon.)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col col--xs-12 col--sm-6 col--md-6 col--lg-6\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"tutorial__image\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.wonderbly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Step-5-700x500.jpg\" alt=\"Step 5\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Step 5<\/h2>\n<p>Now it\u2019s time for little ones to write their miniature star-crossed love note on the acetate circle. (Posca pens work best for this but felt pens will do, too.)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col col--xs-12 col--sm-12 col--md-12 col--lg-12\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"tutorial__image\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.wonderbly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Step-6-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Step 6\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Step 6<\/h2>\n<p>Put little bits of sticky tape on the sides of the acetate and stick it to the cup end of the telescope. Make sure the side with writing on is facing the eyepiece so it\u2019ll be the right way round when the target of their affections looks down the telescope. (\u2018yddad uoy evol I\u2019 doesn\u2019t have quite the same effect.)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col col--xs-12 col--sm-12 col--md-12 col--lg-12\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"tutorial__image\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.wonderbly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Step-7-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Step 7\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Step 7<\/h2>\n<p>Use the pens to give your telescope a final flourish.
