There are so many marvellous reading events for children going on this year, from big established festivals to local pop-ups. As part of our Summer of Reading campaign, we\u2019ve gathered our favourites for you from all around the world \u2013 from the UK, to the USA, to sunny Spain, and beyond! There are even a few chances to come and meet us. Wherever you are, it\u2019s the perfect family day out to inspire young readers.<\/p>\n

1. Camp Bestival<\/a> \u2013 Dorset, UK<\/h2>\n

An adventure-packed family festival jam-packed with music, talks, kids\u2019 activities, crafts, superheroes, entertainers, magic and more! We\u2019ll be there \u2013 so do come and say hello.<\/p>\n

2. Edinburgh International Book Festival<\/a> \u2013 Scotland, UK<\/h2>\n

Set in a tented village in the heart of Edinburgh, this is the largest celebration of the written word in the world. There are over 200 events for children, and many of them are free.<\/p>\n

3. Bath Children\u2019s Literature Festival<\/a> \u2013 UK<\/h2>\n

The biggest dedicated children\u2019s literature festival in Europe. Packed with talks and workshops \u2013 including a special event with us, inspired by our book Where Are You\u2026? Come and find us!<\/p>\n

4. Brooklyn Book Festival<\/a> \u2013 New York, USA<\/h2>\n

Head down to the Brooklyn Book Festival on September 21 for Children\u2019s Day. A lively celebration of kids\u2019 literature at New York\u2019s largest (and coolest!) free book festival.<\/p>\n

5. Sheboygan Children\u2019s Book Festival<\/a> \u2013 Wisconsin, USA<\/h2>\n

The theme of this year\u2019s community festival is \u2018Out of This World\u2019, celebrating the power of books to transport kids to new places. While you\u2019re there, check out the Bookworm Gardens and Above & Beyond Children\u2019s Museum.<\/p>\n

6. Festival of Literary Diversity<\/a> \u2013 Brampton, Canada<\/h2>\n

This year, the Festival of Literary Diversity (FOLD) will be holding its first kids\u2019 weekend to celebrate diversity<\/a> in children\u2019s authors, illustrators and readers. Important \u2013 and fun!<\/p>\n

7. Tuttestorie Festival of Children\u2019s Literature<\/a> \u2013 Cagliari, Italy<\/h2>\n

Over 6,000 kids come every day come to celebrate the magic of stories at Tuttestorie. It\u2019s a carnival of literary delights that brings together children, grown-ups, librarians, authors and book lovers of all kinds.<\/p>\n

8. FLIC (Festival of Literature and Arts for Children)<\/a> \u2013 Barcelona, Spain<\/h2>\n

FLIC\u2019s manifesto is \u2018No child without culture\u2019, which we heartily agree with. Almost 2,500 school children enjoyed the storytelling delights at this year\u2019s festival. Make sure to pop it in your diary for next year!<\/p>\n

9. FESTILIJ<\/a> \u2013 Madrid, Spain<\/h2>\n

FESTILIJ is a vibrant, fun celebration of the best Spanish children\u2019s writers, illustrators and educators. They\u2019ll be back in January \u2013 definitely one to pencil in your calendar!<\/p>\n

10. FILBITA<\/a> \u2013 Buenos Aires, Argentina<\/h2>\n
